little town of horrors

There's this tradition in Romania to decorate a park for the winter holidays and call it "children's little town". A sort of amusement park with Christmas lights and all. This used to be a big thing when I was a kid but it seems like every winter the 'little town' set up by the mayor has become more grotesque. And it's not just me growing up and seeing things as they are, as opposed to the eyes of a child. The place is scary. I'm happy I don't have kids to scare in the children's little town.

Since I've been cooped up too much in the house these days, I went for a walk and I took my camera to take some pics from the little town of horrors.

This is the first image as I enter the park.

Sad and lonely, isn't it? Wait to see more!

What about this creature of doom? It looks homeless, by the clothes...

I can't identify this wretched creature. The Easter Bunny?

Misses Santa Claus??? OH NO!!!

Yes! Some pretty lights! But what's that under the tree?

I guess this can only be the Abominable Snowman!

The park is so sad, even Santa couldn't handle it anymore.

I knew many find the holidays depressive, but this wasn't what I expected!

Let's go to the Christmas tree!

Can you guess, kids, who is there?

With the global crisis, Santa can only afford gas for one reindeer.

I've read in the local newspaper that several parents complained about the big Santa scaring their kids. I wonder why...

But let's not forget that Christmas is a Christian holiday and the children's little town should show that. I will not comment the next pictures - I have no words.

But at least the lights were pretty...

I hope you've enjoyed your stay in the little town of horrors!
