One of the things I've noticed about Teen Wolf is that the show really has some issues with consistency and continuity errors. So it's hard to know whether a tidbit is a genuine hint/red herring/character development and when it's just a flat out screw up (*points to the box of Kleenex on Stiles' headboard when he hands Lydia a roll of toilet paper

It's an interesting question and I'm with you, I'd like to this it was intentional and that, on some level, Jackson wanted Lahey to pay for what he was doing to Isaac.
That being said, one of my followers/someone that I follow on Twitter is actually getting the chance to go on the Teen Wolf set and he might possibly meet Jeff Davis. He's been asking for potential questions for the cast/crew since last night. Mind if I feed him this question and see if we get an answer? ^___^

There are a lot of things that, as a writer, I want to know about, too. With writing my own TV show, I think about the little things a lot - in Episode X, we need to at least catch a glimpse of this because it becomes important in Episode Y, etc - and so when I watch other TV shows, I start thinking about what's deliberate and what's not. On the bright side, the new Alpha twins and the Alpha leader are all going to be a whole barrel full of eye candy. Shirtless pics of the twins have already been released and HOLY HELL. *fans self*
Teen Wolf doesn't do a terrible job with continuity, but it doesn't do a wonderful job with it either. And you never really know for sure if something's a continuity error, or if it's actually going to come up in future episodes. Like this thing with Isaac's dad and the Kanima, or like the fact that Derek says there were 10 people in the house when it burned, but the paper said eight bodies were found (you can count Peter as being in the house, but Derek and Laura - the only other known survivors - were at the school, so they don't count, which means there's a missing person in the count).
