Wedding + 12hr Karting Enduro

Jan 21, 2007 16:05

I've currently been awake for about 26hrs and my body hates me for it.

Started the Day with Zoli & Xstals wedding which was awesome, congrats to both of you. I think one of my fav moments was Drew pulling out the knife heh. Oh and great choice on the song for the 1st dance by the way. It was a great time, food........chocolate fountain.......drinks (I got carded)......and dancing.

The next part of our night was thrown together at the last second. The indoor karting place was holding a 12hr endurance race that started at 12am. In 1hr we found drivers and went and secured the final spot on the grid(14 cars). We show up in our tuxes, and all we see are these crazy race teams who have been obviously planning this for a few weeks. We were starting to get a lil worried, and then we saw one teams driver who weighs 73lbs.........that was scary. But we had our own secret weapon, the Easy Kart champion Dominiq(sp?) at 155lbs.

We sent Dom out for the first stint, the guy is a machine. He stayed out for around 250 laps before coming in.........and he wasnt even tired. On my stint I did about 250 laps also, but when I got out of the kart I nearly fell over, I still feel like crap.

It was clear that we were gonna be in the top 3, we were trading positions back and forth throughout the night. Our main advantage was that we would do crazy long stints and not have to pit, it paid off big time. At the end of the race we were 2 laps up and had it in the bag. 2nd and 3rd were battling up until the final lap which was awesome to watch.

Anyhoo we won, got $1400 cash.........basically we got our money back, then $1000 in gift cards to the place. Awesome night, and I set my new fast lap of 26.86 which was flying, I had a microphone in my ear so Matt and them could tell me my lap times which helped out a lot.

blah blah blah im dead.......im gonna take a hot shower and a nap.

Thanks to all the guys that came out for support, and the drivers, it was an awesome awesome time. Now we have 2 months to prepare for the next one heh.
