General update

I've been eating really well for the last few days! Not in the sense that I've been eating a LOT, but I've been eating more fresh food, and a lot more veggies than usual. I found a grocery store up the street* that's more accessible than my old farmer's market, so now that I have a place to buy my produce I've been eating more salads. I made a REALLY good one tonight - lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, black beans, corn, sour cream, cilantro, and lime juice.

I'm SOOO looking forward to cooking my pear pie this weekend!

Training's been going well...I feel SO much better to be somewhat active again. I have to do my 10 minutes of pilates before bed (I slept late this morning), and then I've got my second run tomorrow. I just discovered Wyclef's "Sweetest Girl" song, which I think is probably very old and I've only heard 30 seconds of it, but I'm excited to run to it tomorrow. I'm running with one of my poker friends for my long run this weekend.

Speaking of poker, I finally won our home game last night! I've been on a really long losing streak; I took third place last week (good for my buy-in $$ back), and I got first on a big pot this week. Big enough that I think I'm back in the black overall. Very satisfying.

Joe came to play poker with us last night. We've been having a really great time together...the chemistry is pretty undeniable, and the better we get to know each other, the more our personalities seem to mesh. It's just extremely frustrating to be stuck in this holding pattern with him. I've been doing okay on the surface, but it's going to suck if this doesn't work out. He's home in Indiana until the 26th, but maybe we'll get together before I head to NYC for New Year's...

As my Chanukah present to myself, I think I'm going to buy Guitar Hero III for Wii! I'm debating whether to bother finding it in a store somewhere, or whether I should just take the easy way out and buy it online (familyvideo.com...anybody have a horror story I should hear?)

* Please note: there is a grocery store across the street from my building, but I'm picky about my lettuce.
