I can't get into current anime. Can't do it. I've tried time and time again, and it always ends up in failure. Painfully bored, annoying failure. At most I've tried reading manga again, and that has preoccupied what little art time I have, thus the lack of productivity as of late.
I think I mentioned here before I tried and even caught up with Domestic Girlfriend in the manga. I can admit the skill and detail in art, but the constant fanservice shoved in your face was really irritating. Story-wise, it has some promise, but it can be really stupid with it's maybe/maybe not relationship triangles and everyone wanting to sleep with each other. ~_~ God, grow up already. I also completed/caught up with these other manga:
-Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaidan and Byako
-Kimi ni Todoke (I just wanted to see what happened after the anime ended)
Other stuff I read most recently were A Bride's Story, Tomie, and Gyo.
I tried rereading GTO again, but too much fanservice and sometimes the storyline makes me lose some braincells. I'm not sure how I completed it the first time around. But now I'm currently reading Skip Beat, which is surprisingly pretty good. It's quite funny, cute, and can be surprisingly tragic, though they drag on the negative background for quite some time. But I like it enough to consider drawing fanart for a damn change. If I ever feel normal, that is. But it's an addictive read, plus bonus points for when Ren gets pissed, yet reacts with this glittery smile lol. I also like Yashiro's fangirling. It's too cute I jst can't
I'm also watching the Skip Beat anime, but it's pretty stiff in animation and wooden appearance. Though to watch Ren's dark reactions to shit people is still a sweet little bonus. XD
Backto the manga, I'm approaching its end, so kinda glum about that. Maybe by then I can get ideas for some fanart through a few screenshots I snapped. As for what manga to read next, uhhh, not sure. Maybe reread 20th and 21st Century Boys, Parasyte, or try reading Monster or Emma: A Victorian Romance for a change. It's so nice to have these manga apps instead of digging through Japantown's manga selections or waiting for the newt volume to come out like 15+ years ago.
