It's not just the young ones you know...

I was enjoying my walk to work this morning, the gloom, the drizzle and that I had to wear a coat all contributed to my buoyant mood.
I took the same route I always do, but I was running a little late.
There were two old men standing chatting over the fences of their bungalows. Once I was past them I was rather shocked to hear someone shout, "Fucking poofter!"
I looked round, there was no one else around but the old men, and they were looking pretty sheepish. The shout certainly sounded like it came from one of them. I smiled sweetly at them both and blew them a kiss.
I left them both coughing, spluttering and choking, hopefully to death.
It's not really the kind of behaviour I expect from pensioners. They're lucky that I am not of a violent or vengeful disposition. I do walk past their bungalows twice daily, giving me plenty of opportunity to smash windows, upset dustbins and cause much unpleasantness. I shall not do this.
I shall chalk this up to be a victory of Crisperanto (my own slightly modified version of it anyway) over rudeness, vulgarity and bad manners.
That's twice in less than a week :)

Due to the new job and the new hours, I can actually participate in some kind of social activity. I'm off to two do's tonight, one with ex-work colleagues and the wedding reception of one of my new colleagues.
Tomorrow I've been invited to two parties, so I'm dashing around town so I can attend both.
This is unprecedented activity for me, as usually people know I'll be busy with work and so don't bother to invite me anywhere or I have to turn down offers due to work commitments.
I am a very happy, bubbly liquid indeed.
