Ahem

Had a very enjoyable weekend. Many things were discussed and cats were cared for. Saw Sin City twice. Yes, it's that freaking good.

I don't even know what I want to say about it and what I have to say probably isn't going to need a cut-tag. Sin City is not everybody's cup of tea, some people find it too violent or disturbing or boring or ( Read more... )

He was so wonderful and Luz-ly. He had this small-ish part in the Hartigan (Bruce Willis) storyline where he played a two-bit thug who would talk and talk and talk in a very flowery and mock-eloquent style. I was in love.

Hee. That guy rocked. I loved his expression of surprise in the hotel. And his rant about the car. =)

But, seriously, no one topped Mickey Rourke. He was just... amazing.

You know, the whole movie is one long proof for how it pays to be a fan.

Mickey Rourke was freakin' awesome. There are just.no.words.

It's so minor... but I loved the way he made Marv walk. I mean, that was *Marv's* walk. Just awesome.

Not to mention Elijah Wood finally laying to rest any opposition to his title as Creepiest Fucker Alive.

It's the minor stuff that matters. Mickey Rourke freaking inhabited Marv, he was Marv and it was greatness.

Word on Elijah Wood. What's funny is the fangirl reaction to his role 'cause Rodriguez & Co. did everything they could to not divorce Kevin from the image Elijah Wood broadcasts to the world at large. Somehow they found a way to make a serial-killing cannibal even more terrifying.

It was his eyes. He's always had those weird eyes (at least, to me), and they really worked with that well. And they drew the audience's attention to the eyes by having the all b&w character have the glasses lit up white...

Just so good. Best movie of 2005, so far.

I just hope they do as well with Batman Begins... I'm pretty sure it's roughly based on Miller's Batman: Year One comics.
