I can't believe how much fun people are having with the soundtrack. Actually, most of the tunes are pretty good (as a few people pointed out), although you have your standard ear-splitters.
I had fun putting it together. It was a good learning experience on how to format the Africander soundtrack (also 2 CD) which I hope to finish soon.
The whole idea is just so much fun. It doesn't get much better then reveling in the campy side of fandom and poking fun at Mary Sue who we all courted in the past but mostly grew out of, mostly.
I can't wait to have it all downloaded and really looking forward to the Africander soundtrack. The more music the merrier.
I'm with you on Boone. I read that Josh Holloway article the other day and made a list of the 14 major characters, with notes on how much backstory and potential fore-story they have going on, and Boone came up as the one to go, followed closely by Claire and Jin. Shannon was on there, too--sort of a toss up as to whose backstory that was really exploring--but because they've gone with the Shannon/Sayid thing, I doubt they'll kill her off. They need for someone to be having teh sex while Jack, Kate, and Sawyer do the Often Annoying Dance of Sexual Tension.
Poor Boone. Of all the main characters he is the most useless. I've seen people say that Charlie is pretty dang useless himself, but there is more forward momentum in his story. You can see how he's being set up to go places and grow.
I say this, and yet I can't help wanting to see what they could do with Boone's character as well. If he is the one to go I'll be sorry to see it, which is quite the testament to the actor and writers.
Not only is Shannon necessary for teh sex, she is also the only person in their little group who speaks french. Though, if she were to die I'm sure they'd find another cute, blonde, french speaker among the castaways who was winging her way back to Chicago after a Con in Sydney. Then she would be the one to have all teh sex with Sayid. It'd all work out.
I decided this morning that they're just screwing with us about killing someone off, and the person who dies is going to be -- Rose. And then they'll say, "Yes, she's a main character! She is, really! We didn't say it would be a MAIN main character who gets killed!"
There is nothing tv people like more then giving faulty evidence to the audience. That and running their shows so long that they lose everything that made them great. I bet they laugh about it while they're smoking crack in those 'development' meettings they have.
Sayid can make me glasses whenever he wants 'sall I'm sayin'. ;-)
Oy, knowing the way that tv people like to screw with me we'll never get the answers to anything. But then, I could be indulging in a little melodramatic pessimism there.
