Chocolates for Chile: Flavor list

Mar 05, 2010 22:30

For anyone who missed my previous note, I'll be doing chocolates this weekend and next, fundraising for Chile earthquake relief.

I'm likely to try to keep doing chocolates for charity every couple of months while I get a feel for how much chcolate-making will drive me insane (or not) and how much it *really* costs. So expect to see a new charity and more chocolate every so often, even without the earthquakes. (And I really, really hope there will stop being so very many earthquakes.)

This time around, I'm just making truffles and bars, and will have a more limited selection. All proceeds after ingredients cost will go to charity. Prices are, I'm sorry, going to be a little higher than for the last sale, particularly for bars; ingredients have gone up in the couple of years since I first set them, and I need to learn where I will break even when I start trying to do this for real. (If you have placed an order and the new prices mean you would not be comfortable buying them, please let me know and we can make some arrangement.)

Truffle flavors I am definitely making:

Mint chocolate chip (minty white chocolate ganache with miniature chocolate chips, dipped in dark chocolate)
Burnt Orange
White chocolate passionfruit
Wintry Mix
Lime Creams (I recommend dipped in dark chocolate, but if asked can dip in other things; these are safe for
people with chocolate allergies if dipped in white chocolate, but are not kosher or vegetarian;
they contain gelatin)

Small experimental truffle batches that I will make if I have time, and definitely if there is interest:
White chocolate rose (made)
White chocolate sage
White chocolate green tea rolled in sesame and/or matcha (green tea powder) (made)

Bar flavors I am definitely making:

Kulfi (white chocolate with cardamom and pistachios) ($3.00)
Giving Thanks (orange-flavored white chocolate with cranberries) ($2.50)
Tomcat (orange-flavored dark chocolate with candied ginger) ($2.50)
Milk Lancaster (mint-flavored milk chocolate with crushed chocolate cookies) ($3.00)
We're All Nuts: Milk chocolate with almonds, hazelnuts, and cashews ($3.50)
Some Like it Hot : ($2.50)

Other nars I have in stock & available:

Vancouver (dark w/ cherries) (1): $3.00 claimed
Holiday Spice (1): $2.50

Truffle costs:

Sampler box: $6
Half-pound box: $15
Full pound box: $25
