After much reflection on the situation, Charlie had recommended negotiation over warfare. An owl had been dispatched, and an interpreter arrived at dawn.
“Somebody called for a Parselmouth?” Harry asked cheerfully.
“Harry, thank you for coming! The Short-Snouts are in a complete uproar, and I mean that literally. No one’s been able to sleep for a week with the noise.”
“All this trouble over a little snake?”
“Er… it’s not “little”, Harry, didn’t the director mention that? It’s been eating dragon eggs. It’s longer than the Hogwarts Express!”
Harry smiled. “Well, I’ll just have a word with it, then, shall I?”
