things I probably don't deserve

I had come to the conclusion that my camera, a Canon Powershot S50, pretty much hated my guts. It did everything in its power to spite me. It maybe even wanted me to fall off a cliff or get hit by a car so it could have a good laugh. So I returned it to my mother, who it loves and takes fabulous pictures for, of lions and ostriches and amazing vacations etc.

And now I get to fail at taking pictures with a better camera! A Canon Rebel XT has joined the household, completely thanks to my mother, who is too generous for her own good. SLR will become my friend if it kills me. This camera can’t hate me or I’m going to be so sad. I’ve thought about it and I think I need to name it and treat it like my first-born child. What’s a good name for a camera, guys?

But enough.

Took the boys out in the warm sunshine for a bit. Simon is currently boycotting shirts until I make him something that is to his taste. I stuck him with the hippie beads to try and make him chill out. It helped, a little. I want to make more hippie necklaces, but the local bead shop is sorely lacking in the tiny wooden bead department.

Leo was just being his usual adorable self.

Inside, Mac was lamenting the rain the day before.

And there was lots going on outside. I managed to snap this picture:

The car is mine. The cat, not so much.

This cat isn’t mine either, but at least I know from where she hails. It’s Gidget from the land below, aka she owns the roommate downstairs.

Now, this tube of fluff is actually under my direct guardianship. Grendel rules the upstairs with an iron claw.

And Gidget found this beetle. After I took its picture, I think she may have eaten it.

Coming soon: Leo got his remade hairstar wig!
