So, I am now completely taken with Firefly !!! How is it that I've not seen this until now??? It was so tragically cut short. When I watched the last episode, I sat on my couch for a full 5 minutes repeating "That's it??? Seriously???" over and over and over again. Firefly is the best! But now you have to get the movie Serenity! You know about that, right? Malcolm Reynolds is one of my Top Five Favorite Characters EVAH!

I'm glad you're feeling better and that vacation looms in your future! Paid days off are the best!

Frances has loaned me her copy of Serenity. I will watch it later today (as it's almost 2 am here)

Malcolm is a great character and I totally ship him with Inara (but I want her for myself, too ;)

I'd better try to sleep now ... insomnia sucks :(

Yes, I was always for Mal/Inara, too. The way she cries after she finds out he was with NandiKelly Donovan in "Heart of Gold" just devastates me every time. Poor Inara.

I'm sorry you couldn't sleep :*( I was so nauseated from my meds today that I went to work for like five minutes and then came home again. Blerg. We're a pair, you and I.

That scene got to me, as well. Mal looked rather uncomfortable during their exchange as I'm sure he new Inara was putting on a brave face. She just looked so wrecked afterwards. I certainly felt bad for her.

We are a pair, for sure. I hope you're meds aren't giving you such a hard time today and that you're feeling better. I slept well last night and am looking forward to the weekend so I don't have to get up at 5 am.

You know about the movie, right? "Serenity." It's AWESOME. I'm in a very, very, VERY small minority in that I shipped Mal/River. :) (And, sorry, but I never liked Inara, and found Mal/Inara really unhealthy. He absolutely despised the core of who she was and that was just something that could never be overcome. Yeah, I have issues with them. Of course, this was partly because I just don't really like Morena Baccarin -- and I've seen her in several things -- and I love Summer Glau.)

RE: Season 03 watch. Trying to do it in batches isn't working for me, so once I'm back at my home, I'm going to attempt an episode a day. Even if I miss one, I may find myself doubling up a few days, whatever, and I'll get it done. :)

I do know about the movie and will watch it tonight once I'm home from work. Hmmm Mal/River ... that's an interesting idea. It's a little hard for me to really ship any of them since the series was so short-lived so I don't know the characters as much as I do with TVD. I think that Mal/Inara had great chemistry but also loved Kaylee/Simon. Nathan and Gina were the only actors I've known from other work.

Good to know you're doing a Season 3 re-watch as well. I hope to get mine done during my vacation (and that it'll prompt some interesting posts from me).

I'll just say that the movie made me REALLY happy as a Mal/River fan. REALLY happy.

Part of my M/I issue is that I didn't feel the chemistry, but again -- I don't like MB. Actually I watched the first episode (which was actually the train robbery episode because Fox is STUPID!) and it was mainly because of her that I didn't continue watching. I decided to give it another go a few years later (from the actual PILOT -- STUPID Fox!) and got over my meh-Inara feelings. I eventually liked the character, but not with Mal. I mean, he hated what she did, never failed to not insult the hell out of her and her entire belief system. It was just terribly, terribly unhealthy and totally unfair to Inara. (And I love Mal.)

I'm hoping to start the rewatch this weekend. :)

I LOVE firefly! so glad you've watched it!

Nice to hear from you, Jenn :). I haven't been around as much lately either.

That's cool that you'll be here in August. I go back to work on Aug. 17th after having 2 weeks of vacation. There will definitely be e-mailing!!
