TVD 3.19: Heart of Darkness

Elena finally allowed herself to be open to her feelings for Damon AND act on them instead of playing ostrich and shoving her head deeper into the sand!!! I can't tell you how incredibly happy this makes me.
It kinda goes without saying how fricken' hot that ENTIRE scene was from the moment she starts staring at him with such unconcealed desire in her eyes, to the electric current between them in/on the bed!! Having the hand touching being the catalyst for Elena to vacate the premises was ideal, as was the way Damon only had to say, "Why not?" and then softly whisper her name for her to throw caution to the wind and initiate their kiss. JUST PERFECTION - THE WHOLE THING!!!!
Then the awesomeness continued with Elena getting to witness firsthand Damon being beat up and her being suitably concerned. I loved that Damon figured it out so quickly (one of his many assets) but the VERY BEST PART was him standing up for himself and not making it easy for Elena. She was very on point that Damon's lashing out regularly makes her decision for her (albeit unintentionally this time). It's just perfect that Damon wants her to figure this out for herself and is willing to not sabotage them to do that. I just adore that Damon wants her to accept all of him for who he is.
Yay for the road trip back to Mystic Falls and for the lovely and all-seeing Rosemarie!!! Her summary of both Stefan and Damon was just lovely. I especially loved the part that Damon surprises Elena, and challenges her, and makes her question her life. So very true that he is either the best thing for her or the worst ... that's just their dynamic - volatile, passionate, honest, and stubborn.
