Hallowe'en in Mystic Falls
Tonight's episode certainly had a Hallowe'en feel to it what with all the ghosts' floating about. Mind you, it could be said that every day is Hallowe'en in a town where supernatural entities abound ;)

I wonder what Damon meant by a skew in his Mikael plan? I refuse to believe that Katharine is truly dead.
I assumed this meant he hasn't heard from Katherine, and last he heard she couldn't get him to wake up, so it doesn't seem to be a very good plan.
I enjoyed Mason & Damon bonding even if it took me awhile to believe it. Mason wanting to make things better for Tyler was great. Mason's attitude is what made the image of 'The Other Side' seem bleakestto me - if he's willing to get past Damon's rather vicious slaughter of himself, then it must be pretty bloody lonely over there (excuse the pun).
I felt like Mason felt like Tyler's best chance was getting Damon in on whatever was down in the cave -- if Damon would do anything to save his brother, and that in turn will save Tyler, it was a win-win for Mason. And he knows Damon's the get'er-done action figure in this group of people. It seemed smart of Mason to first get Damon's attention with a little torture, and then lead him to more information. It worked for me.
I hear the hiatus will start after episode 9. Eeeek! :*(

That makes sense about the Mikael plan from Damon's perspective. It was not so nice of the show to leave us all hanging about Kat's well-being.
It worked for me, as well, it's just that I suspicious of Mason's motives, although that was totally unjustified as it turns out.
Nooooooo!! Not that soon. :( Although in Season 1 the hiatus was after episode 10, and in season 2 it was after episode 9, so I guess it's not all that soon. It must due in part to the fact that I'm enjoying this season moreso than last.
