Hello F-List!!
I feel like I've been a little MIA lately, but that is about to be rectified as I don't have to work again until Monday, July 4th. I wish it was longer, but am happy to have a break.
Fun things I plan on doing during this time include:
- write a DE fanfic
- post comments on some of(recently-discovered)
drkprncss17's wonderful fanfics
- Visit with my family at our cottage (see icon)
- Ride my friend's horse (Beau)several times
- post several entry ideas that have been lurking in my headd
- clean out my storage locker with a view to having a yard sale at some point
- Walking, cycling, and more picture-taking, of course
If any of you have prompts, feel free to leave them in the comments. I'm most comfortable with Damon/Elena but would be willing to try Nina/Ian RPF. External stimuli seem to help me to get inspired. I want to write a longer piece this time around.
The prospect of a Georgia excursion in the fall has me all a-flutter. It would be so many levels of awesome to meet up with
arabian,
badboy_fangirl, and
tams71 to enjoy set visits and stalking, er possibly seeing Ian Somerhalder. It will be interesting to see if this pans out.
Speaking of things that make me happy, yesterday I had a lovely breakfast with my friend & co-worker Gina (who sneakily paid the bill while I was in the bathroom). We had a good visit. I always come away from our visits thinking what a good idea it was. I also had lunch & a break with another friend & co-worker Shannon. It was nice to catch up with her, as well.
At work, pretty much every person I say commented on the blouse I was wearing or how good I looked. It was very encouraging for my self-confidence (when can be a little lacking at times). It felt good to like my appearance (due in part to the fact that my size 14 pants are now getting too big :o).
Also, there is a girl that I've lately been observing from a safe distance. Okay, so I'm eye-stalking her. We crossed paths several times yesterday and earlier in the week (Monday) I chatted with her. It feels good to be in a place that I can enjoy that with no wish for anything further. I mentioned this to both Gina and Shannon (who are now trying to figure out who she is, as I didn't mention her name).
I'm proud of myself for talking to her, as I usually don't due to my shyness. Seeing her yesterday, when I was in such a positive frame of mind was really, very cool. Anyhow, all in all, it was a wonderful day. Who knew so many good things could come out of a change in schedule?
Here a few pics I took while at the cottage last weekend (just to make this post a little prettier).
ETA - I crossed off a few things from my vacation to-do list. I'll keep working on the other ones. All in all it was a perfectly lovely vacation (albeit way too short).
