Thank God the hiatus is over!!!! That felt like the longest 7 weeks ever. So without further adieu, here are my initial (in no particular order) thoughts on The Descent ...
- Long overdue Damon-centric episode. So much lovely and talented Ian on my screen <3
- Love that Elena was in Damon's gorgeous room (even if it was with Rose) and that she was curious.
- Elena is his friend again and genuinely cared about what he was going through. I love the chemistry between these two!!!
- Werewolves are grizzly killers.
- Jules doesn't really do anything for me.
- Continuity blip in Stefan & Elena's makeout scene. He appeared naked from waist up in the first shot, but then had his usual muscle shirt in later shots. I could be wrong, though. Will check when I have downloaded it tomorrow.
- Caroline looked awesome at the school in that outfit.
- Aww, Matt is so sweet.
- Love how Elena shadowed Damon and observed him.
- Minimal Stefan presence. Nice break from "He who can do no wrong"
- Alaric definately isn't as close with Stefan as he is with Damon.
- Damon's character growth was phenomenal in this episode
- He broke my heart several times. Ian hit it out of the park (as per usual) in several scenes.
- Rose really did bring Damon more emotional understanding.
- Loved the English country side with beautiful horses (especially the grey).
- Damon's crisis: the pain of missing being human >>>> beautifully performed by Ian !!!!
Will edit this with more thought out things tomorrow.
Good night, all.
