Little, Good Things
Lots of good things happened today. They may have been little but still worth writing down. Here they are:
I got caught up on some spreadsheets that were behind by 7 weeks or more. It felt good to be able to do that and take lots of calls, too.
I got a pat on the back for a job well done from both of my Team Leaders, and my Supervisor. This was prompted by our VP (and owner). It is nice to be appreciated for the extra miles I've gone to for the company.
I contacted another Team Leader asking his assistance in learning more about his group and his duties. This was kinda a big thing for me, as I want to be able to move up in the company but am quite shy about reaching out and asking for help. We'll see if he responds or not.
A new friend referred to one of my posts in her latest post. I am very much enjoying this creative outlet of writing blogs and have made a couple of friends (arabian & badboy_fangirl ) in the process. I really am not as alone as I sometimes feel.
I've walked 4 times in the last 5 days. Today, I took my digital camera to take pictures of the festive lights along the way. I learned that that's not such a good idea, as the battery dies and there's not enough light to show the scene at all. The good thing is that my walking has definately improved.
Other recent good things:
A co-worker and friend had a meaningful conversation at lunch. She just needed to talk and I'm glad that she chose me to be the listener. I'm trying to think of ways that I can help her with her situation. We haven't been able to connect much lately, as my schedule is now opposite to hers. I'm glad we were able to this time.
I had a spontaneous visit with a new friend who lives in my apartment building. It was easy to talk to her and we both enjoyed ourselves. It may sound silly, but it's good for me to know that not everything in life needs to be planned. Good things can just happen.
