Sometime around 7 this morning, I was roused from a rather nice sleep by excited cats. Apparently there was something REALLY AWESOME outside my window, and getting to a prime viewing position required stepping on my pillow. Grumph. Stupid cats. Then I heard... splashing? It took a few seconds for the implications of that to seep through my sleepy brain. Omigods, had an animal fallen into the pool?! I grabbed my glasses and shoved the curtain aside.
There were, indeed, animals in the pool. Ducks. Four mallards, three males and one female. All happily paddling about. No wonder Jasper and Yoshi were so excited! I don't think they had ever seen ducks before. It seemed as though the male mallards were competing for the attentions of the lone female. Shortly after I started watching, she evidently made her selection and the disappointed suitors flew away. Try the pond over at Conejo Creek Park, fellows. Lots of lady ducks there. I went and got Mom up; ducks in the swimming pool are sufficient cause to wake somebody up. The happy couple stayed around most of the day, then flew away around dusk. Yes, we took pictures. I don't want to deal with getting them off the camera and onto Photobucket right now. I'll let Mom deal with that. :P
Bharti invited us over for Indian food and her neighbor Edith's birthday. Mmm, Bharti food. And cake! Lots of cake. I will not need dinner tonight.
Lots of seizures today. I actually had a rather nasty bout of spasms, enough so that Mom had to give me an extra dose of Tranxene. Whooo... I always forget just how potent that stuff is. I haven't been able to really think all day, and I've been lethargic and sleepy. (Still better than myoclonic spasms, though.) Tried looking at my tutor's chemistry notes just now, and I might as well be reading Greek. Blargh. I have a test on Monday! I do not need this right now, brain! Why can't you save the seizures for after the test? Still got tomorrow to study, but I wanted a full weekend. Whiiiiine.
