I'm having trouble getting into sleep-mode, so I figured I'd update my LJ.
Q: What happened with your classes last semester?
A: Passed with flying colors! A's in Biology and Speech (SO proud of that one) and a B in History of American Women.
Q: What have you done so far this summer?
A: Well, let's see. Threw a tea party-themed bridal shower for
litespeed; lots of prep, but it was such fun! Was the maid of honor at her wedding. (Let me know when you get the pictures, Tina, I want to post one of me looking all gorgeous!) Started reducing my Tranxene, part of the benzodiazepine family and a relative of Valium. That actually hasn't been as bad as I anticipated. Went to visit Meg in Sacramento for two weeks, during which we both got colds and dined out so wonderfully that I will have to be extra careful for the next month. :P
Q: So what are you going to do now?
A: I've run out of excuses. I have to clean my desk and tackle my filing. ;_;
Q: How's your health?
A: Been better, been worse. It's harder to sleep at night, probably because Tranxene is a sedative and I'm taking less now. I'm getting some panic attacks and more seizures. Given all the horror stories I've heard about benzodiazepine withdrawal, and my experience switching from Klonopin to Tranxene a few years ago, I'll count myself extremely lucky if this is all I get.
Oh yeah, and I need to get back on the WW wagon and start exercising more. (Fell off in Sacto. >.> I can't get Moroccan food in TO! Or Ethiopian, or ostrich burgers, or gourmet miniature cupcakes...) Fortunately I will have plenty of time to plan menus and cook. And Dad hooked up the old treadmill. I actually rather like treadmills as long as I have music and a place to rest my book du jour. Once I get into the book, it's easy to ignore physical discomfort. Swimming is much more fun, but after a couple scares last summer, I can only go in the water if another competent swimmer goes in with me.
Q: How are the most adorable kitties on the face of the earth?
A: Healthy and happy! They seem to have forgiven me for leaving them when I was in Sacto. Probably didn't hurt that Mom spoiled them rotten.
Okay, let's see if I can get to sleep now.
