Character Information
General
Canon Source: Kingdom Hearts
Canon Format: Video games!
Character's Name: Namine
Character's Age: 15. Though, she technically is only over a year old, she has the mentality and body of a fifteen year old, due to being a nobody.
What form will your character's NV take? Her sketchbook with a new addition of a crayon tethered to it on a strap. The strap has a large, plastic Paopu fruit charm, and a blue version of the lucky charm both attached to the end of the book. For text she just has to write on the page like it was a notebook. For voice she has to write something like voice or audio and then circle it. Finally, video appears as a sketched out box on the page that’s filled in with the video feed, like a movie, and to start a video feed she just has to draw the box
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Namine’s power is control over memories. More specifically, Sora’s memories (and likely Roxas’ as well) and those of the people connected to him. She is able to alter, rewrite, or manipulate memories, seeing them as chains that she links together or takes apart depending on what she is doing at the time.
It is also proven that she can alter objects attached to memory, changing how others view the object. (This is somewhat under debate if she can do this to a larger degree with entire areas or rooms, but it is guessed that this might be an extension of that.) She has also shown herself to be able to appear as Kairi, another form of this sort of power of illusion.
The initial problem with this is she is not able to totally cover her somebody, Kairi, even if she tries to. Also, once she alters someone’s memory, if she fixes it back to how it was, they loose the rewritten version of the memory including the amount of time when the memory was rewritten and they were acting on the belief that it was true. She is also not able to destroy memories, as they are always still there, though she can break the links entirely, severing a person from their own self, or erasing a tiny bit of their memories to make things easier for them.
Like other nobodies, though she may be an odd one, she is able to create portals through darkness to travel.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? Namine already has her power. However, because in canon this power only works with Sora and Roxas and those connected to their hearts it is, therefore, utterly useless without either of them. So I would like to extend her powers to others just beside the boys. Obviously the same strict limits apply.
Weapons: She has her sketchbook? Which is technically a weapon for her.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: When a person loses their heart, they become two things; A nobody, and a heartless. When someone strong loses their heart, their nobody becomes almost human. Gaining what could be called a personality and a life of it's own. But minus the thing that makes humans a part of humanity. When these creatures realize what they are missing, they, like any beings who feel something has been stolen from them, fight to get it back.
Namine is one of these nobodies. She was created when Sora sacrificed himself to free Kairi's heart from where it had fled to join his after the destruction of their home.
She was found by Organization XIII, a group of high-powered nobodies and when Sora entered Castle Oblivion, their current base of operations, she was made to work reorganizing his memories. Under the control of Marluxia and Larxene, she began to replace Kairi in Sora's memories with herself, creating a false childhood that both Sora, and the replica of Riku remembered. It was made to look as if the boys were fighting to find Namine the whole time so that they could control the boy.
During Axel's betrayal of the Organization, he managed to give Namine the unsupervised time to fight back, which she used to try to show Sora what were the fake memories. During the reveal, the Riku replica attacked Sora and Namine used her gifts to break the heart she had helped create for the replica. After the fight to finish off the Organization, Namine offered to fix Sora's memories the cost of this being it would erase the time in Castle Oblivion. After Sora took the offer she spent a year undoing the mess she had created. During this time she appeared to Riku to help him overcome the darkness and even offered to seal it away for him.
During the next year, both Namine and Riku began to work for Diz, who was trying to both restore Sora by capturing his nobody, Roxas(number XIII in the Organization) and to destroy the rest of Organization XIII. Closer to the time of Sora's awakening, Roxas was placed into a virtual Twilight Town with no memories of his time in the Organization. Namine, feeling a kinship with the other nobody gave him hints and tried to calm him by telling him the only was to be complete was to merge with Sora, completing him. Once that had taken place and Sora had woken, Namine's usefulness to Diz was up and Diz tried to have Riku dispose of her.
Instead, he allowed her and Axel to escape. Then, following Kairi's capture by number VII, Saix; Namine rescued Kairi. After that she allowed herself to merge with Kairi, completing them both. Just before the final battle, Namine and Roxas made themselves known to their somebodies and finalized the completion.
Point in Canon: Just after she merged with Kairi near the end of game two.
Character Personality: Namine, unlike most other nobodies, was born without memories or the knowledge of emotions to use as a base for her personality. Instead of using her own nonexistent memories of how to process emotion, she formed responses based on the guidance of her captors, causing her to start as quiet and easier to control, but also very lonely.
However, once she came in contact with Sora’s heart and the memories connected to it, she began to form true emotions mainly starting with guilt and jealousy. Guilt as she began to realize the effects of what she was being told to do on Sora, and jealousy that Kairi had someone to care about her while she did not. This lead her to have a real motive for replacing the memories of Kairi in his heart.
As she started to form something of a moral compass of her own and grew to actually care about Sora, she became more rebellious and determined to help him. Even though she still is fairly quiet, she now is devoted and determined to finding a way to help the people she cares for, through manipulation, interference and even at great risk to herself. Namine is also willing to risk danger to others, or make decisions that would seem cold or awful, like breaking the heart of the replica to protect what she does care for, though she might regret it later. She does try very hard to be understanding and kind when called for, she often has troubles knowing what will hurt someone if she tells them or if she acts a certain way.
Unlike most nobodies, Namine does have true emotion, and possibly always did have it though initially her personality was fairly meek. This is a trait specific to only a couple of characters, her and Roxas as the examples.
Character Plans: Initially, Namine is just going to be learning how to live on her own as a person separate from anyone else. Since there are members of the organization, she'll try to figure out what they are up to. Also, I think I’m going to, at least at the beginning, send her to school.

[There’s a moment where’s she’s concentrating very heavily obviously finishing something before turning her attention to the feed. She’s got the book on what must be a table because she hangs over it, her hair falling and hanging weightless over her shoulder. ]
My first day at school was today. It’s very structured, but not…Too structured. It’s nice getting to be near so many people all day, and I’m in a drawing class. My teacher says I need to get supplies though.
[She taps her crayon against the page, and then sits back a little further.]
It’s more people than I’ve ever been around at once.
[She looks down, eyes darting as she thinks, before a small smile stretches across her face.]
Yes. I think I like it, very much.

It was much larger than she’d ever expected. Which was silly.
She’d seen school in others memories, Sora’s memories of school were fond enough and Kairi’s more so, they should have prepared her. But, as things often were when she was faced with the real thing, it was much more than she could ever glean from a memory dulled over time. There were sounds and sights and smells that always seemed so...far away when she tried to imagine what others had seen in her place. Though, she supposed, this was a larger school than any of the three she knew closest had ever seen in their lives before they’d left Destiny Islands.
She’d gone the previous day to arrange things, but that wasn’t anything like this, with this many people, and she hadn’t been alone. She didn’t want to say she was nervous, but it was something very close. This was something she’d never done, never had reason to do until right now.
Apprehensive? Possibly. That was closer to it.
And it felt better to say than saying she was nervous or afraid, even if it was close.
Someone bumped into her from behind, nearly knocking the sketchbook clean out of her hands and her eyes flew open wide as she steadied herself. The boy shouted something of an apology as he ran off to whatever class and Namine was left staring after him as he was swallowed in the crowd.
It was odd to think if she walked forward, she’d be sucked up like that too, like a normal someone. Odd, but perhaps, comforting. With that, she closed her eyes and when she opened them, she started walking forward, ready to begin.
