It stormed really hard last night, and I took a nap. When I woke up, the storm had passed, it was drizzling outside, and I even heard some birds chirping. THEN the power went out. So I did what any sensible human being would do, and headed out to Wal-Mart to buy a flashlight. (I do have one, which I won for selling Girl Scout cookies and had batteries of questionable maturity.) I also found a lilac-scented, three-wicked candle.
I lit all my candles when I got home and spent the rest of the evening reading by candle- and flashlight until my migraine got the better of me. I went to bed around 10:30, enjoying the quiet and dark. The power came on around 1 a.m., but I continued to sleep long and comfortably.
I woke with my alarm, refreshed but STILL with the headache, but managed to go to work long enough to do my time at the reference desk (four hours).
I am currently at
broodingfool's place, where he is pampering me with hot tea and pizza. My head feels mostly better.
