"A lieutenant of His Majesty's Navy"
Pigmented drawing ink (black, burnt sienna, indigo)
nib on 100% cotton watercolour paper

Another RN lieutenant - and the obligatory companion piece to THIS. Because where Norrington is, you can bet Gillette is just around the corner...

I did use screencaps as reference for this one as well, but the results are only marginally better than with the portrait of Norrington. I guess you can recognize Damian O'Hare if you look closely and squint a bit. ;)
Not that I will make this a habit; my rule of 'Don't infringe the actor's right to privacy with you art' only allows a few rare exceptions.

I had planned to have another go at a portrait in crisp inked lines (the first try can be found here), and because I was rather happy with the results of the Norrington portrait I couldn't resist drawing Gillette too. However, I can't deny that those tricorn hats are a nightmare in crosshatching to get them dark enough, and I more than once thought I'd ruin the paper with the fine nib used to draw this... Still trying to figure out how best to fake 18th century artworks. *g*

As usual, I hope you enjoy the view! :)
