Last St. Martin update for a while... :)
Hi again
This will be my last update before I get home on the 22nd of July. We are leaving St. Martin on Wednesday morning and going to Kansas City for three days to de-brief. As soon as I get back to Spokane, I have a week of girls' camp where I will either be a counselor or the music leader. So, you won' t hear from me for a while.
Hurricane Dennis is not anywhere near us but we have been getting a lot of rain and wind lately. I have never in my life seen so much rain!!! I think we are getting the very edge of the hurricane.
Um... Today was the last day od VBS thank God! We had over 80 kids today in a tiny church in the French Quarter. We gave out prizes today because some of thekids were very good at behaving while others weren't.
Tomorrow is another construction day at the new church... I think it will consist mostly of a bucket brigade of dirt and concrete so we can pour cement on the balcony. The roof is going up! Yaaaaay! I'm so happy for that! The next work and witness team that will be here will finish it so that the hot sun won't have to beat down on people trying to work on somehting in the sanctuary. Too bad it wasn't up when we were working... we painted the rafters for the roof while it was really hot and sunny.
During out last few days... Monday and Tuesday, we are going to hit the beach and bring back sunburns as souvenirs! I think some of us wanted to go to the beach today but I feel like staying in plus somebody needs to stay and put the beans on the stove since it takes two hours to cook... we're having tacos tonight.
Well, have a great month of July while I'm gone and make sure to leave many messages for me.
