Work Report
I am sure this observation has been made by hundreds of comics and probably Dilbert more than a few times, but Why are people who work in offices SO OBSESSED with Fridays?? It starts on Wednesdays, as they count down. "Mid-week!" "Just two more days!" "It's hump day!" (note, all quotes are things I have heard in the last couple of weeks)
Thursday is the absolute worst. Just about everybody will greet you with a "Hello... one more day!" as if it is only one day before you get to leave the building forever, graduate high school, or get married or something.
Fridays are full of questions about the weekend.
The other days are also full of people saying things like "This is my Friday" or "Wednesday is my Friday" as if to explain something important.
I am a receptionist, and often people have nothing to say to me except hello, and goodbye, as they passby... so I am the recipiant of such comments. Perhaps it doesn't sound all that bad to you, but I am asking, on behalf of everyone in positions such as mine, to please be concious of what you say. I would much rather you say nothing at all, or give me a cookie, than try to make cute small talk.
I guess in the grand scheme of things, this is a small problem... but really, people. Try?
