my funny valentine
There is a girl that comes to the library a lot who is always in trouble. A couple of weeks ago she announced that I was the meanest librarian ever and that another librarian that I work with is way nicer and cooler. This all changed this week when, after the cool librarian banned her from the computer for a month, I became the nice librarian even though I still won’t let her on the computer.
In an effort to distract the girls who were banned from the computer, I gave them a bunch of paper and crayons to make valentines. Girl X made one for me, here is what it said:
“Hi, I know you love Valentine’s Day so I[‘m] writing you to tell you that your so nice and you remind me of Jessica Alba and your [sic] the best librarian and I wish you and your boyfriend the best. Love ya!”
Nice right? I was floating from such a great moment when the “formerly cool librarian” kicked the girls out of the library for being mouthy and they came downstairs to complain to me. Girl X was so upset that I didn’t take their side that she demanded the valentine back saying that I don’t look anything like Jessica Alba and that she is much prettier than me. I can’t really argue there but still. She also said, “I don’t wish you the best and you or your boyfriend.” Sigh. I yelled at her for ruining such a nice moment.
She knows I’m the nicest librarian though so she gave me back the card.
