An UN-FRIENDS LOCKED ENTRY, shwoah.

Exhibit A: The Young Marauders.

Exhibit B: Obnoxious teenbopping fans. You may scroll down to see their awful comments.

Exhibit C: The defense that invisibledancer and I so painstakingly wrote, only to find that this chick has friends-locked comments on the post, and we were thus unable to post it. But we are so moved by this issue, that I just had to post it here; this needs to be heard! XD

And now, why we love the young marauders' actors:

All right... My friend and I, who have been avid Harry Potter fans since we were 13 (we're 21 now), saw these pictures and immediately fell in love. These boys are fantastic real-life representations of the characters they're playing, and seem incredibly consistent with their adult movie counterparts. When we looked at young James, we saw Dan Radcliffe's face, and the resemblance between young Sirius and Gary Oldman is uncanny. Also, Snape pretty much made us scream. What's more, they all look to be about 15 or 16 years old; anyone who says otherwise is probably used to seeing actors who are much, much older playing younger characters, and has forgotten what it looks like to have someone who looks 15(ish) year old playing a 15(ish) year old.

So what if Alec Hopkins doesn't have Alan Rickman's nose? While it would have been pretty sweet to find a really good young British actor with Rickman's exact, perfect, to-a-T nose, the probability of this is pretty slim. So what if James Walters has curly hair, and the Sirius in your head had straight? So what if Robbie Jarvais' hair is a slightly lighter shade of brown than you pictured it (also, if you remember, the actor playing adult James also has brown hair -- and besides, the light in this shot is clearly making his hair look lighter than it is)? Big deal. Harry's eyes aren't blue in the books, and Hermione's hair isn't curly. We all got past this.

This isn't a comic; this isn't an anime; this isn't the ideal version inside your imagination. It is a live action movie with real people with their real proportions and real features and real flaws. Before you so cruelly judge these young actors -- based on a single screen shot, no less -- take a moment to consider the reality of these movies, and wait and see them in action. They might be incredible; we don't know. And wouldn't you rather have a compelling young Sirius than a really bad actor with nice hair?

And that's our two cents ♥
