(no subject)
So it has been a pretty long time since I've written, and so much has happened.
I went on the trip to Italy, and it was soooo much fun! It was unreal, the country is so different from here in every way! Rome was gorgeous! and so much fun, it wasn't really what I expected, it was better! The hotels there are not like hotels here! They are like big old fashioned houses! and the elevators fit like one person, the lobbies are tiny, there is no big entrance to the hotels at all! and they have half floors which really confused us at first, like you are on the fifth floor and then you go up a small flight of stairs to the fourth floor and so we had a little trouble finding our rooms. and then the rooms, are very different too, they just dont look like hotel rooms and in all the bathrooms there they have this thing called a beday, or sumpthin but anyways, it looks like a toilet only it has like a faucet thing. since european people dont take as many showers as us they use the beday to cleanse their butts and other stuff down there! lol. and as for the city of rome itself, every single restaurant is outdoors which is soooooooo cool! and all the streets look like little alleys, people drive like maniacs there! and all the cars r like the little yellow one in the movie just married, everyone drives those or mopeds. the only big cars are taxis. and it would be so easy to get completely lost in rome because the streets are nothin like streets here! and then all the big old ruins and everything are just right in the middle of downtown! like you will be walking past some little stores and banks, you turn a corner and there is the huge Pantheon (which is a HUGE old awesome church) right in the middle of all the other buildings! and then they have things called piazzas which are like big open squares in the cities with restaurants and vendors and all kind of cool stuff. the trevi fountain was amazing! its the huge fountain that is in every single movie about rome (you can see it in the hillary duff movie and the marykate and ashely movie, when in rome) but anways the fountain is awesome! and legend is that if you throw a coin into it, it means that someday you will return to rome. also in rome are gucci, missoni, versace, prada and all those kind of designer stores! we were too scared too go into any of them because they all have bodyguards in suits at the door, and there was like a 20 minute line to even get into the gucci store! so we did a lot of sightseein in rome, we went to see the vatican which was cool, but the tour guide talked soooooooooooooooo much! lol but the vatican is crazy big!! and in rome everyone speaks english! so we were like this will b no big deal, but then we got to sicily....
When you are flying into sicily all you can see is bright blue water of the sea and mountains everywhere! it was honestly the prettiest place ive ever seen! the water is crystal clear there! and the mountains are so close that they look fake! orsolas house was in cinisi, which is a small town in sicily and her house is awesome! its five floors and houses there are sooooooo different they are very tall and pretty narrow. and her rooftop had the most amazing view, from one side you see all the houses in the town and the sea, and if you turn around u see the mountains. every day her grandma and mom would make us the best lunches in the world! they had like four courses! and another different thing, their kitchen is on the top floor! which was so weird but cool. anyways, after lunch we usually went down to the beach. the beach was awesome as well! and then we would go back to her house around 6ish to shower and get ready. for dinner we usually ordered out, the chicken house, and this outdoor pizza place called mimis were our favorites. i cannot even describe to you how good these places were! and italian icecream...UNBELIEVABLE! it is the best thing in the world! after dinner we would usually go down to the meetin place downtown to meet all her friends, who by the way did not speak a word of english except for one or two of them. and then we would go up to the mountains to fumare. and in the mountains is where the townspeople get there water!! theres just like little tiny places with like trickling water where they just come with bottles to fill them up with water, so bizarre. but anways its like a pretty good drive to the top of the mountain, but they go there cuz cops dont bother them up there, we would stay in the mountains usually for an hour and then go to the beach hangout, Nino's Beach, which is a really cool little bar place right on the beach where EVERYBODY went! we got a lot of stares and a lot of attention there! we'd stay there really really late and them sometimes we would go to someones house after that and then around 3 or 4 in the morning we would head home. except one night we went to the sea club, which is the coolest dance club in the whole world! its pretty exclusive and its kind of surrounded by a cliff. its awesome! and people dance so differently there, and all they listen to is techno or "house" as they call it, you would think it gets old, but the techno music really grew on me. anyways we stayed at the sea club goin crazy for hours and hours! that was the night i got called barbie, lol lots of people told us they loved us that night! it was so much fun! and also one night orsola had a birthday party on the rooftop of some big restaurant, we danced like crazy there! and one night the mountains were on fire! it looked like a huge volcano had erupted! and the mopeds.... great way to get around! they are so much fun! but htey have speed bumps all over the roads there because there isnt really a speed limit so i guess they think the speed bumps will keep everyone from going to fast. and one day we went to the market, its a ton of vendors that fill the streets for like 2 miles. i bought some cool jewelry there for really cheap! but it was like the hottest day and a whole lot of walkin so me and ors almost like died becuz it was soooo hot! but everything there was sooooooooooooooooooooooo cool! and im really going to try to go again next year, if i can save up enough money!
Also i recently met my roommate, she seems really really cool, her name is karen and shes from prophetstown and we did jumpball against each other when we played them in the oregon tournament! lol shes playin volleyball and basketball at augustana and shes probably going to have a ton of friends and never ever hang out wiht me and im going to be a complete loser! and shes really pretty too shes almost my height! im really excited to start school, but at the sametime i dont want to because im going to miss everyone! well not really, cuz im pretty lucky cuz me and amanda will 4 sure still hang out, i hope... she prolly wont want to be friends with me either, and hopefully i will still c ors and emily once in awhile since they are only ten minutes away. but everyone else im really going to miss! :(
zack leaves in ten days! i cant believe, i try not to think about it cuz i get so frickin depressed whenever i do, cuz im so worried, who knows what is going to happen between us, plus i am going to miss him like crazy! and augustana is kinda messed up, lol i just mean all of our breaks are different then most schools, and plus zack is going to be playin basketball during a lot of the thanksgiving and christmas breaks :( i do not know what im going to do. ten days... that is sooooo soon. and it doesnt help that everyone is like lindsey, its too hard, it never works. that really makes me upset when people tell me that, what the f do they know, just cuz some couples dont stay together doesnt mean we wont, i dont know what i will do if we dont. i really have to stop thinking about this... but its sooo hard, 10 days! plus i think it makes it harder because i start school so late, so i dont really have much to keep me occupied and keep my mind off it, so it will b a relief once school starts for me. i dano, i hate saying goodbye! and saying goodbye to everyone like all at once is going to kill me! I just.... I'm not ready I guess, I'm not good with change, and everything is changing!
But on an upside, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE comes out NOV 17TH!!!!!
