Life!!!
Ahh I forgot all about Live Journal!! I have been too busy lately to do anything. I stayed home from work today, because of a certain puppy got sick all over my room all night and I got no sleep.
Oh yeah that reminds me... Ian and I got a new Puppy!! His name is Koda, and he is a baby boxer. He's now 11 and 1/2 weeks old. He's so cute, but I forgot how much work puppies are!! I still love him though.
I have been freaking out all week! My sister got a rottie/lab mix puppy that was 14 weeks old, sooo cute and sweet. But the day after she got her, she got really sick with diarrhea and throwing up all over the house, and it had worms. My sister couldn't take it anymore, because she's got 3 small kids, so she called the lady she got it from, and said she couldn't handle it anymore. She asked the lady if it had had any shots and she was NO!! Grrr. Anyways, she told my sister that there was a lady next in line and gave her the number. Well the lady worked at the humane society and said she'd be happy to take her but couldn't get her until the next day. Well the puppy got worse and Erica thought she was going to die, so she called the lady and said she should come get her sooner. The lady said to bring her to her work and they'd test her for Parvo, and if it was negative they'd treat her for what she had. But, it came up Positive!! They had to put it to sleep right in front of her b/c they couldn't take it inside since Parvo is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS!!! Yeah, and guess who had been around the puppy.. yep Koda and Lilly. We aren't worried about Lilly because she's healthy and had her parvo shot, but Koda has only had one of his shots for it and it attacks puppies!
We are still watching them closely, but Koda woke up in the middle on the night with diarrhea really bad, which is one of the symptoms of Parvo. I have been freaking out and crying so much.
I looked it up and it says that parvo can live in it's environment for up to 9 months. And it can be carried on shoes, hair and tires. So that means even if the dogs DON'T have it, Erica can still bring it over here, and they can't go over there for a long long time.
Okay sorry, have to vent.
Other than that, everything has been going good. I like my job, but I'm not too fond of one of the vets that work there. Me and Ian are doing good.
