Obama wants to block the court-ordered release of torture photos. I'm not sure why Obama is doing this: cowardice? Stupidity? I can't see that there's much political gain from it, and Obama is not a stupid man. So I don't know why.

But I do know that his alleged reason is pure, grade-A horseshit.

Senator Dodd proposes the Effective Terrorists Prosecution Act; this would restore our right to habeus corpus as well as undoing some of the worst excesses of the Military Commissions Act/Torture Bill.
