Life update!
Grey Mouse - He is dead. There have been no more mouse sightings. I finally bought some snap traps, super glued bait to the thingie (he stole the first round of bait) and killed him that way. Poor grey mouse.
Work - I'm officially done with misdemeanor! Although I still have a few cases I held onto. This week I'm starting to do felonies! Exciting! :D Also we've just been told that we're now supposed to fill out a new form for every case we close. I'm not sure what is more tragically stupid about this decision: the fact that the form is largely duplicative of forms/notes we're already making for the cases, or the fact that one person is being designated to put all this data into a computer on all the hundreds of cases our unit closes every week. The person they picked is an evil harpy, so I don't feel bad for her personally, but it's still a pretty stupid idea. Databases are great and all, but they do not fix all problems.
I bought a kindle - Apparently my threshold for impulse buys is now $109. Yes, I still prefer physical books and I will never give them up. Yes, I am still wary of the ephemeral nature of e-books, especially those whose publishers have profound control issues. But I like shiny toys. Also! I can download all kinds of fic from AO3 and read it on there, how rad is that?
Writing - I haven't written anything in weeks. Ugh. FAIL. Also I have to stop using Remix as an excuse now.
