So at least one delegate in Maryland is shit-stirring on immigration. That obviously doesn't translate to "Maryland is about to pass an Arizona-style anti-hispanic law omg," but it's something to keep an eye on. Maryland had only about 6.7% hispanic population per the Census Bureau's 2009 data. I don't think that immigration is as big as an issue here as it is in Arizona, and I don't know how much anti-immigrant feeling there actually is.
But I do know that there are a hell of a lot of dumb crackers in this state; especially when you get beyond Baltimore and Montgomery counties, which are actually the most progressive parts of the state.
Like I said, just something to keep an eye on.
