qu'est-ce que fuck? i need more coffee
This morning I manage to wake up half an hour after my phone alarm goes off (hah! in your face, alarm!), make my way downstairs for the last cup of coffee, then come back up, start up the ol' laptop, and go through business as usual. Boot up Trillian - one of my cousins from the Philippines starts chatting with me via Facebook.
Ate Lyn: no.. I thought you want to have a job before you start on school again..
Dazzle: that's what i thought you meant
Dazzle: sorry, i'm not awake yet
Dazzle: i think i might try lifeguarding
Dazzle: or apply to another nursing home
Ate Lyn: lifeguarding? that's cool
Ate Lyn: I thought that's only a job for men...
Dazzle: what?
Dazzle: no!
Dazzle: that's ridiculous
Dazzle: lifeguarding isn't just for men
Dazzle: is nursing just for women, too?
Dazzle: because here in the states, we have male nurses, too, and they're most certainly not bakla*
*bakla is the Filipino word for, well, what we would call a flamboyantly gay man here.
And then Trillian said she went offline and back online a bazillion times more, and I resisted the urge to hit my head against the wall in frustration.
Ate Lyn: yeah, right.. it just that I haven't seen woman do lifeguarding job here :)
