hey hey

so Bobbles is right - when you are happy and adept at at wide swath of the sail, all may not run as smoothly as one hoped. Who came first? The clubber or the dj?

I may have been a dj first. I discovered the joys of clubbing much later than most - but always enjoyed mixing sounds to suit the mood/environment.
And, with all the clubbing/parties put together ... raving was definitely something that was a huge, the biggest influence on my style.

Mix for the vibe. Maintain the vibe.

Ok, I am starting here then moving outward...I need a show, an Internet mix show lot thingee - on a good station, with all its licenses in order. I have a broadcast license from WTSR and several years Internet broadcasting experience.

What I play, and the mix I play...I reallly am seeing the real difficulty of playing somewhere out on a regular basis close to homebass. I do like guest spots at different spaces/events,etc, and even enjoy a bit of travel for the right gig. If I would expand my repertoire and play some hip-hop & r&b, some popular stuff, etc...then I could get something no problem. It's happening nearby with a respected name. But, I don't. And please don't ask me for Promiscuous Girl...grrrr

I'll play some nice house for ya....chill vibes of downbeat breakiness mixed with some cool James Holden style IDM, delving into funk with an James Brown cut from his early soul years, that eases into Detroit techno....so what if the patrons don't know what they are listening to....how's the vibe baby? Is it good? Good :)

shizzz, and I gotta get a cd mixing system, units, whatahooses...I have a Numark dual deck, the CD-100 I think? Would that do? I have a Pioneer mixer....but the Denons look better prob for cd if I go there.
