Why is poor service so accepted as the norm from the contracting/building industry? Why has it become a laughable thing to say to one's neighbor, "yeah, well, the builder messed up again", or "yeah, they still haven't finished it"
This sucks. When I was a nurse, if I were to bandage a patient improperly, or leave the job unfinished I'd be severely reprimanded, and maybe even sued if there was damage. But a builder, a contractor, and home store that provides these services isn't held up to that standard...why the f not?
We are being jerked around by our contractor - seems like the sub-contractor they hired to do the foundation work is awol for large parts of the time he as been supposed to be working. I have a massive pit next to my house, massive piles of dusty dirt laying all over, my yard is completly torn up from the digger...and it's staying this way it seems :(
My poor mother-in-law contracted to have a new tile floor installed by Home Depot. They did the most ridiculously lousy job, and they are trying to tell her that it's all right...it's alright they didn't use backing board (as thier contract says they will), it's alright they didn't use spacers when setting the tile (as Everyone else does, this guy says he's been doing it so long, he doesn't need the spacers...well budddddddy, then why are the tiles crooked?). They have been going back and forth with her, saying it's fine, and they seem to be hoping she'll just forget about it, cause they keep telling her they'll have an answer for her next week, then the week after that, then a week after that...
