Ok, you all must see Across the Universe if you have not already done so. I am in a state of post-musical/movie bliss. Hell, it could have been crap and I still would feel all giddy inside, it is my curse. So, I was told that I would like this movie. I do indeed. It is a musical based on Beatles music, again I say... Brilliant! The disk case said Bono made a special appearance but it did not, I repeat DID NOT, mention that Eddie Izzard was in it as well. OMG. I wish that it had been the slightly trimmer Eddie in a more tailored and feminine Ringleader outfit but atleast it was him! I actually got up off the couch to stand up near the TV to see him better. I was way too excited. Then... THEN the next scene was the cast laying in a field staring at the sky singing Because. Now, the whole scene was exactly what I imagined when we sang the song in widows. It was like a huge acid trip and I have to admit I sang along with the song happily, without cringing, for probably the first time in my life (and had a cow when the base line came in but that is a totally different story entirely). Hooray for The Beatles! I must now go google and youtube the hell out of this to see if I can squeeze any more joy out of it for right now. woohoo!
