This cake is a mess, and I just need to rule it.
Nothing really going on here. I finished the cake for my mom's birthday tomorrow. It started out fine and then progressively got bitchier (the cake, not me) as the day went on. I decided to do a bigger cake than I'm use to, 16 inch I think. Betty Crocker supplied the cake mix and frosting but I still had to cook it. First layer was fine. Second layer broke a bit when it was transferred to the bottom layer. Then the top layer broke a big chunk off of itself getting out of the pan. After going through 3 cake mixes and 3 vats of frosting I ran out of frosting, so we had to run to the store to get two more tubs. I had fun with the chocolate candy melts for the stars and also put chocolate squiggles (My mom thought they were W's) on the sides. Basic shell border on the bottom and my sketchy attempt at lettering on top. Overall, I like the cake alot. We shall see how many of my moms coworkers it puts into diabetic comas. I'm taking a gallon of milk with it so that should help a bit. Honestly, it was fun to make and I'm just crossing my fingers a big chunk of it doesn't fall off in the night :)
