A/N: Here we go! Chapter 3 and it's slowly proceeding n____n
”The North Pole?”
Heechul couldn’t believe his ears. Was he dreaming? He pinched himself, hard, in the arm but with no other result than a red mark that hurt pretty bad.
“Uh…are you really sure we’re on the North Pole?” he asked carefully, just to make sure the other wasn’t joking with him.
“Of course I am,” Dongho answered and frowned a little. I’ve lived here all my life, how could I not be?”
Heechul didn’t know what to say. Suspicious as he was by nature, he still suspected Dongho was trying to trick him, but just then the other took off the beanie he had been wearing and Heechul inhaled loudly in surprise. Dongho’s ears were pointy. This really wasn’t a joke, some way or another he had ended up on the North Pole.
“Wow…” Heechul mumbled and Dongho curiously peeked at him.
“Why such a surprise?” he asked. “You expected to be somewhere else?”
“Eh…I guess you can say that. You see, I don’t belong on the North Pole; I’m from a place called South Korea. My name is Heechul and I’m a human.”
Dongho jerked in surprise and looked at him with big eyes.
“A human? But what in the world are you doing here then? Humans are not supposed to be here! They can’t get to know that we elves exist! Oh my Santa, what should I do? Should I kill you? No, I can’t kill anyone, that would look really bad when I apply for a job and He surely wouldn’t be happy…oh dear…”
Dongho got up from the floor and started walking around in circles, his hands anxiously twisting around each other.
“Hey man, calm down,” Heechul frowned. “It’s not like people would believe me if I said I had been to the North Pole and talked to an elf. Besides, who is that ‘he’ you were talking about?”
Dongho stopped wandering and once again looked at Heechul as if he had said something utterly stupid.
“Well Santa Claus of course! Who else would you think rules this place? The Easter bunny?”
Heechul started to feel like this situation only got weirder and weirder. Santa Claus was real?
“Oh dear, what should we do?” Dongho sighed. “Why are you here in the first place? I thought boss had casted all sorts of spells so we wouldn’t get discovered.”
“Uh…to be honest, I don’t really know myself,” Heechul said. “I don’t know how I came here; actually I can’t remember much at all of what happened before I woke up and got scared by you.”
“Really? That’s weird though…unless He’s got something to do with it, which wouldn’t be very surprising…our Santa is known to get weird ideas sometimes.” Dongho mused.
“What brought you here, by the way? “ Heechul asked. “An old stable seems like a weird place to voluntarily go to if you ask me.”
“Oh, I was just looking for a place to sleep at tonight. I’m not from here you see, I come from Christmastown further east,” explained
Dongho. “But it’s not very big there and I thought there would be more opportunities in Santaville, so I took my stuff and started walking. And then I came here and stumbled over you and well, now we’re here.” He shrugged.
“I see. Well, what do I do now?”
“I don’t know,” Dongho said. “I think you’d better go with me to Santaville and I’ll help you to get to meet Santa himself. If it’s true what you say about having no idea how you came here, it’s most likely thanks to him and you should go see him to find out why he brought you here. Maybe he can help you to return home, too. Not now though, it’s too late and we should sleep here tonight.”
“I never thought I would say this, but well, if it’s the only way for me to get home again, then I guess I’ll have to meet Santa. But I guess it can wait for tomorrow.” Heechul sighed and lay down in the hay. “You wouldn’t happen to have an extra blanket, would you? I have to say it’s kind of cold in here.”
“Here you go,” Dongho said and tossed him a big, fluffy piece of something that most likely seemed to be polar bear fur. “Since I’m not sleeping outside, I won’t need both of them anyway.”
Heechul wrapped the pelt around him and felt his body slowly warming up. So he was going to meet Santa Claus, eh?
