to say i'm gutted by the election would be an understatement of epic proportions; the dirty, ugly underbelly continues to slither along unabated for another four years and at this point, i wonder if it's even possible for us to mend our fractured society or if we're just permanently fucked.

Well, I don't think Canada is the answer either, but...I can understand the appeal (I have relatives in the Hamilton-Toronto corridor), friends in Alberta -mainly Edmunton area- and in Thunder Bay, over by Kingston, and London in Ontario, a friend over in Nova Scotia...but it's not so easy to go there-either)...and I say this as someone who's working on getting EU citizenship (which has taken for-fucking-ever). ha. So, I guess it's all a matter of picking where you want to go.
I think we both know that the reality is that we stay and RESIST. Unfortunately I think this election showed just how stupid so many Americans are. I sincerely hope that a lot of the plans the Tr*mp right have in mind, won't be able to happen. I can't believe he'd decimate so many industries....but, hey, he killed millions of Americans, and acted like it was no big thang, so.
I'm happy that you have your man and he's comforting to you. You're very fortunate! 'm glad you could be there for your dd too! I have been able to comfort my 33 year old dd who is scared about what the changes to health care will mean for her, for her boyfriend, for me. I think that many, many MANY people who voted for him (based on disinformation etc etc) will have a very rude awakening. sigh.
I wonder what the new political party will be--some sort of democratic socialist party? I dunno, but I think this election will ultimately spell the end for Dems. Seems like there will be political movements like we haven't seen in our lives.
gah. sorry to go on. It's been a very very rough week here too, with the time change and this that and the other thing. good lort.
Proud of you, too, for those health goals!! Way to work it! I find I just have not been that motivated. I gotta learn to love myself more, even if I've had my tender feelings hurt by a man. sheesh. You think at 62 I would know better!

i am not thinking of moving anywhere, but if she truly needed an abortion or something like that? we'd leave and get it handled. canada is closest, so.....plus they have tim hortons. ;)

and my dear friend....the fact your heart can still be hurt means your heart is a place of love; it sucks sometimes, but people who don't have that? they're horrible. so don't be horrible. :) i say go on a singles cruise and find mr. right (or mr. right now lol). i always tell the mister if he divorces me, i'm going to make him pay for a singles cruise for me as part of the divorce proceedings. ;)

You've never been to Tim Horton's! you're transplanted from the west coast-they don't even play hockey out there, do they? ha. I myself am not a hockey fan, but I do like Tim Bits. who am I kidding-I like most things at Tim Horton's. They also have nice seasonal mugs, so get you one. When you go, of course. Maybe you should just go sometime on a Tim Horton's hunt, for fun.
lol thanks for your pep talk...I sincerely doubt I'll ever go on a cruise, let alone a singles cruise, but...never say never. I have a feeling your mister will not let you go!
