New lesion(s). In my brain. Less than three of them. They were there on my December MRI results, but I just found out about them today. I don't feel like doing all the exposition right now, but the bottom line is that the study protocol for the drug study I am in says that I have to be offered MS therapy now. So, I've been offered Avonex - self- ( Read more... )

I love you for bringing it all back to Lucille 2 (Lucille II?) because if there are two words associated in my mind it is Lucille (II/2) and vertigo.

But seriously, folks. Have I told you how I feel about patient advocates? And this -- yeah, this is my professional opinion after all those years turning shit like this into quizzes with alliterative headlines. I don't believe anyone, up to and including paid professional patient advocates, should go to meetings like this with doctors without someone there. Preferably someone who can ask a lot of annoying questions without an ounce of shame AND who can manage to take notes at the same time. Conference calls are a decent substitute, even trans-atlantically. You know? (Barring that, I'm always available for this sort of thing.)

You are apparently one of like 10 people I know who I seem to be willing to give unsolicited advice to, like, on multiple occasions. It's because I know you're strong and stubborn enough not to listen to a damn thing I say if you don't agree. So anyway, mostly, you're a rock star, as usual, and tell me what if anything to do to help you if you want.

Hi, remember when you left this comment eons ago?

No, I don't think you have told me how you feel about patient advocates, but I respect your views. I can definitely get on board with the idea, and I am going to try and bring someone with me next time I'm going to actually talk to a doctor. And thank you - I may take you up on your offer!

Keep the unsolicited advice coming. I never feel comfortable asking for advice, or it doesn't occur to me, so I need people like you in my life if I'm going to get any. So, thanks for that and for always being there with the supportive comments!

In a TOTALLY unrelated story, is J still looking for a legal assistant type of job at a non-profit? Because a certain non-profit is hiring 3 of them.

Yes, I am always available for phone action. ;)

And J is TOTALLY still looking for a job. Email details? The other Big Gay Non-Profit is either reallllllly slow in doing a second round (always possible) or not interested. Hard to tell.
