Halloween here was pretty fun. Molly and I were tigers because of these striped shirts they had at H&M-she was an orange tiger and I was a white tiger. They didn't have any tiger ears though, so we just got normal black cat ears. A lot of people went to the IES Halloween party, and there was lots of candy, cidre doux, and other goodies. Pics are up on my yahoo photos, user name kkashdan, under the album France 7: Halloween @ IES.
This past weekend I was home alone for this first time. My host family left for their vacation on Thursday, and my host brother who is working and not going on vacation had an engagement party to go to so he wasn't here either. Friday night I pretty muc did nothing after Molly left, though we watched an episode of Charmed in French (HILARIOUS, btw,) and after she left I made myself eggs for dinner. Saturday I got a bit of hw done--a bit mostly because I slept until 12:00. Molly slept over that night and we ordered domino's pizza en francais. We got a cheese pizza, delicious potato wedges, cinnastix that in France don't have icing, and fanta. It was AMAZING. I was very proud of myself for having successfully ordered pizza in French, and the guy at Domino's didn't switch to English at all! While eating our pizza we watched Scrubs in French on French tv (way NOT as funny as English, the little word jokes are definitely lost in translation, and the guy jubbing JD makes him seem like a cartoon character), and then we watched Love Actually and some normal Scrubs, in English.
Our vacation begins tonight, and Molly and I are leaving for Italy in a couple hours. I will, of course, take TONS of pictures. We're going to Venice and Florence and we get back on Sunday. That's the awesome thing about studying abroad in Europe, what can I say.
