Two bits of news (sort of). I am going to Texas in a few weeks, which may be the last time that I see my grandmother. She's 88, and I'm not sure what's going to happen in the next two years when I'm in a faraway land. This makes me really sad, and probably the first time that I've ever volunteered to go to Texas without some form of bribe from my mother. The other bit of news is that the Peace Corps sort of got back to me, in that they've sent my invitation, but it has to arrive in the mail, and I received the email notice on Friday, which means I might not find out until midway through the week. They are such cock teases with information. This is the third time I've received an email telling me to expect a letter. But at least I know that by the end of this week, I will have a place and a time. And judging by the relatively rapid response, I'm guessing that I'll probably be leaving in May. I'm really sad that I don't get to see Nicky off.
