I'm still around, just incredibly busy right now. My birthday went well. Any pain there might have been was well soothed with honey bbq ribs, grilled shrimp and margaritas. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, those terrific banners, well wishes and my lovely v-gift. I love my flist so much. You guys rock!
I still haven't found out yet if I have the management position. I did type up a letter of interest and had the formal interview. Oddly enough, while I wait I'm actually doing all the manager's work because the previous one has gone now. I was actually going to be more assertive and ask my boss, the DON, today if the decision would be made soon. That didn't happen and probably won't happen for a while. All of us are in shock at the moment. The first thing I heard when I went in today was that after the boss left work yesterday she went home to find her husband dead. He wasn't ill or in poor health. She tried to revive him, but he had already been gone too long. Obviously she is shattered. We're all pulling together to give her our support right now.
I haven't written a thing in the last two weeks except the rough draft of the next Trioverse ficlet. Not sure when I'll have time for writing any time in the near future. Even my reading time is suffering. You know I'm busy when I don't even have time to *read* my yaoi!
My laptop has been drafted for less fun stuff at present. :pout:
On a happy squee note, I've lost a few pounds (yes, even after snarfing on ribs)and the improved weather has brightened my attitude about working out. I need to get a goin'. It won't be long before summer is here and LAKE TIME!!! I refuse to wear a muumuu.
I'll be lurking a bit to see what everyone is up to.
