There's so much to tell, but I'm not sure if I wanna make this blog all that long. Lots of new things have happened since my last update, so I guess I'll just get started and see where I end up.
Let's see, first thing is first. My car was declared totaled from the accident, so I was paid out $4,000 for the car. Kinda funny that this all happened because my parents planned on giving me the Accord and then trade my Corolla in for my parents' new Prius and only expected to get $1,500-$2,000 for it. So, $4,000 is pretty damn good for a car I paid $5,000 for 2 years ago. And, for those of you wondering (and I haven't told yet) the construction company's insurance accepted 100% liability for the accident, which rarely happens. So lucky me, my insurance won't go up much, if at all. Nice.
My visit to ATL was nice. McKennah is gorgeous and adorable, and it kills me that I'm not there to watch her grow up. But that's ok, Auntie Linda made sure to spoil her lots while I was there. lol. And I got to see Leah's first ultrasound picture of baby 2 the day before I left. I'm super excited that I'm going to be an Auntie AGAIN! Yay! Everyone is hoping it's a boy this time. I'll be happy either way, as long as the baby is healthy and strong. Other than spending time with Leah and baby, I spent as much time as possible with my mom, and helped her to straighten some things out, but I can't help but worry about her a lot more this time around. That's ok, I don't plan to stay away from my ATL home for too long. I plan on making next trip in about 7 months or so to see the new baby and make sure things are going ok with mom and everyone down there next April.
In other news, we moved. I cut my trip a few days early to come home and help with Zeke while my parents packed up the house, and spent my free time packing. We sold the house in Waukesha and found a nice 4 bedroom with a fully finished basement to rent out in Wales. Kinda sucks tho. My drive to work is about 25 mins each way, and my commute to school is going to be even worse.
Anyway, the new house is nice. We've got a huge deck in back with a pool (that we're considering opening, even tho it's near the end of the summer) and I've got the entire basement basically to myself. Megan is thinking about getting a treadmill to put down here, so aside from the laundry room and that, the rest of it is mine. Kinda funny that my bathroom and closet are both bigger than the closet and bath up in the "master suite." My parents are working on the construction loan, and we're breaking ground on the new place at the end of the month.
School hasn't started yet, but once again, one of my classes has been canceled. Sucks tho, I was REALLY looking forward to taking this Women and Film class. But I might be able to work something out. I've been emailing back and forth with a professor from the English department about possibly doing an independent study for this course. It'll be my last chance because it's my last semester of school, and I think she understands that. But if it doesn't work out there are a few classes that I've researched that I';m interested in taking so we'll see what ends up working out. Classes start Tuesday, Wednesday for me since I'm only on campus on Monday/Wednesdays.
I'm kind of nervous that it's my last semester, but I'm really excited at the same time. I'm looking into flying my mom and brother out for my graduation ceremony, and I'm praying that my mom can make it out here. I think if she doesn't come, I'll end up being really disappointed. Graduating college is something I'm really proud of myself for achieving and I want everyone I love and who has supported me through this to be there for me. But we'll have to play it by ear. I know my stepdad can't run the shop by himself, and they're constantly having staffing issues, so if she can't make it, she can't make it. We'll just have to play it by ear.
Anyway, I'm done writing this short novel. I'm going to get back to straightening things up down here and finish unpacking. All I have left is to finish my closet and my computer stuff and then I'm done and I'll be 100% settled in. Yay!
