Generally speaking, the number for artists are low for every fest. Last year, we had four fanart submissions, I believe. Given that this is such a small fandom, we did not foresee the need for so many spots for artists. Keeping the number minimal also helps ensure that the teams have an equal number of participants.

I wouldn't worry so much about spot availability, to be honest.

Essentially the limited number of participants stems from the need to keep everything even on both sides in order to have a fair game setup. For instance if you had 19 writers and 1 artist on one side and 13 writers and 4 artists on the other, you're going to have skewed voting. Art always gets more votes/comments than fic, and fic length can really limit the number of readers. klose and I tried to figure out a way to contain the number of variables for the fest.

The limited number also has to do with the size of the Lily/James fandom. Like I mentioned in the rules, Games are primarily for bigger ships (Remus/Sirius, Harry/Draco, Harry/Snape) and often have fifty slots together for both teams. Unfortunately, our size doesn't allow for that, and we can't really afford to make the rosters too large for fear of skewing the teams, as I said before. Honestly, we really wish we could get the number of participants that these bigger fests have. >When we had the feedback poll last year, we asked who would be interested in participating to get a ( ... )

Yes, thanks for the reminder! We plan to do all our pimping a bit closer to the sign-up date, but we'll definitely be showing our faces at the community! :)

Good question! You don't have to have the mods look over your piece, actually. I'm not too familiar with beta resources, but you can give Perfect Imagination a shot. Also, try asking your f-list or Team members.

If none of that works out, let me know! I may be able to help out, but my schedule is a bit tight at the moment.

You don't have to really concern yourself on the seasonal aspect of the prompt so much. Prompt use will be incorporated into voting, but I don't imagine it will be too big of a deal. I mean, if you selected the cat prompt and you drew Lily and James going to the moon on a rocket ship, no cat involved, you'd probably be marked down by voters.

If there is a specific situation you want to ask about, feel free to PM me, reply to this message, or email the mod account. I can get back to you asap. :)

Oh it can just take place during that season. No need to get into detail with leaves and stuff like that. Like I mentioned, we're not holding anyone to the season they picked but more so the prompt itself. We're going to mention that all participants should be voted on the use of the prompt only and not the season. The season was actually just to bring out the theme of the Games rather than restrict participants even more. I hope that helps!
