I must say that even though the whole "things happen for a reason" bit really kicked me in the ass recently with the whole Zach thing i still like to believe it's been said for a reason. and i think it's really been trying to prove it's point lately with the whole Claire finding her dream job thing and with certain songs coming on the radio when it's turned on that make me think of certain things (long story) but tonight was the clencher. at the last minute yesterday i called Sam on my way in to work and asked if she still wanted to go see Sex and The City the movie tonight and she was totally all for it. I wasn't originally planning on it because i was supposed to work 1-8 but then Megan switched my schedule around and i went to 10-6 instead and got out in a reasonable enough time to go see the movie. we made plans for the 7:40 showing and once i got out of work i jetted down to the theater to get us some tickets ahead of time. after that i was going to go wander aimlessly around Wal-Mart while i waited and instead T.J.Maxx caught my eye so i went in there instead. i browsed the shoes and found a pair i sort of liked but decided against at the last minute. after that i perused the shirts and sweaters but didn't really find anything that suited my fancy. then for kicks i thought i'd check out the dresses. well once i got there there was this beatiful white and black strapless number sort of sticking out of the rack, draped across the other dresses. upon further inspection i saw that it was my size, so i picked it up and checked the tag: on sale for $17!! i immediately made a beeline for the dressing room where i tried it on... and it fits! the zipper sticks a little but for that price i think i can ask someone to zip me up. after deciding right then and there to go for the dress i went back to the sweaters to find a little white button up to go over the dress in case of cool nights, and found one for a reasonable $25 which wasn't bad considering it was a pretty heavy sweater and looked totally cute!
so i guess the spirit of Sex and The City prevailed and i was drawn to that dress. granted i'm not much of a dress wearer, but i always wanted to try to get into that more, especially now that it's warming up. and speaking of Sex and The City, the movie was great!! if you know the show and you followed it enough, it's just absolutely fabulous! Sam and i Loved it!! granted some of the lovey dovey mushy stuff made me miss Zach but what can you expect from a chick flick? it felt like i was just watching an extended episode of the show. i can't wait til it comes out on DVD. and just because i'm in the movie spirit lately i'm going to see Indiana Jones on Sunday with my parents just because i want to actually see some movies this summer. although paying eight bucks a pop is going to be a bit hard to swallow, but it's a hell of a lot better than most other states. one of the few reasons i love Vermont.
but enough about all that, i need to get to bed because it's back to work again tomorrow.... yay... or not.... but i do have to say one more thing about that dress... i have absolutely no guilt nor regret about buying it. and THAT makes me happiest of all!!
