Due to the Writers' Strike, Heroes: Origins has been pulled from the schedule. We can't be sure yet if they're not going to do the mini spin-off at all, or if it's going to be delayed until next season. But TV Guide has stated that it has been pulled from this season.
I'm not too familiar with the specifics of this strike, but here's what I know. Right now, writers make a certain amount for doing the initial job of writing the movie/TV episode, then make almost nothing off of further success of the product. The writers are now demanding a cut of DVD sales and online internet sales such as iTunes and Amazon Unbox.
This strike has become a big deal. Networks are seriously talking about showing re-runs, game shows, and more reality shows that don't require much for writing. Entertainment is going to take a serious hit very soon... Well, maybe I'll finally have time to catch up on my Netflix!
Addition
NBC and Heroes are preparing for the worst. They are shooting an alternate ending to the December 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, this episode was just supposed to be a conclusion of the current Generations arc. Should an eleventh hour agreement be reached, and a strike averted, the alternate ending will likely be scraped. But, it is possible that the strike will end season 2 early at 11 episodes.
This sucks. Writing's hard. Give them their money and give me my show!
