House: The upstairs is livable again now with electricity and some sense of normalcy returning. We're getting sheetrock put up downstairs now. It's getting close.

Mina was accepted to St. Andrew's, our one and only choice for Pre-K. Now we can go into even further debt. I can't even look at the tuition over the next 9 years. Mina has her Seder today at the JCC, my first Seder. She's been singing songs about the baby Roses (moses) in the river Nile all week.
Blaise will carry on in her place at the JCC when she leaves though. And I will actually have time to myself again. Finished compiling 95% of the manuscript I'm working on. Dave and I are going here today to see a friend:

FRI 3/30
3:15 PM Master Classes:
All that Jazz: The Poetics of Yusef Komunyakaa
The songs taught me to listen, says legendary poet Yusef Komunyakaa of his early exposure to blues and gospel, and from those songs he creates poems that move through and beyond the rhythms of music, illuminating essential truths and extolling equality as balanced and necessary as music. Komunyakaa's poems have aptly been described as razor-sharp pieces that tell us more about our culture than any news broadcast. Come be inspired by the National Endowment for the Arts recipient and New York University Distinguished Senior Poet as he speaks about all things poetic.

The Tennessee Williams Fest was nice enough to put some money in our pockets, and we didn't have to do anything like last year, which is always much better in my opinion.

My mom and I went to this on Wed. nite:

The Nineteenth Annual
Art in Bloom
"Vive la Nouvelle Orleans!"

http://www.noma.org/special.html

with music by the Rebirth Band and about two dozens restaurants catering. Commander's and Muriel's had the best dishes. Commander's was a crayfish bisque poured over corn grits. Muriel's had a goat cheese crepe that melted in your mouth. Leah Chase was there representing Dooky Chase. Mr's B's table said they should be opening soon, still renovating since the storm. The flowers were beautiful. Tommy's (here in the 1/4) had a real impressive piece, all birds of paradise, etc.

I guess I should take my kid to school now.
