Mardi Gras

I swear I have pics of the kids coming. I left my camera in the hotel so I have to get them off my in-laws camera. I have to say the benadryl/ Sugar free Red Bull combination worked wonders in the am. Zulu threw much more than I recall in years past, got 5 coconuts and about a dozen stuffed animals for the kids. There seemed to be a lot of lighter skinned people in Zulu this year. I'm glad they're back to their Basin route. Best place to catch Zulu, but I wish they wouldn't let people park on the neutral ground. They used to have trees there, which is why they didn't used to and the kids could run around. My one year old danced for 2 hours on Bourbon Street in front of Lafitte's, which was strangely playing tunes mostly heard at the GM. Apparently, our second child is the party animal. Mina stayed upstairs playing with a friend most of the day. I had Mardi Gras hangover all day yesterday, that's not from drinking but from realizing you have to go back to the real world like the rest of the planet. How depressing. Poet Ed Sanders and his wife Miriam as well as Poet Lee Ann Brown and family came down for the festivities. They all read last night at the reading.
