All About Steve was funny. The storyline was silly, as expected, but there were funny situations and dialogues. Not to be an ageist, but Sandra Bullock doesn't seem age-appropriate for her character.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was as expected. Good if you're a Harry Potter fan. I thought there was too much focus on the romance angle, but I suppose it was necessary since this book probably had the least amount of action in all of the seven books.

I knew I would like a movie about food and chefs. Meryl Streep is an amazing Julia Child. I don't know of Julie Powell, but Amy Adam did a great job with the character. As I was watching the movie, I was thinking that maybe I could do a cooking challenge too! Now I'm thinking it's not realistic. Anyway, I can't wait for Paris and Marseille!! =P

Confessions of a Shopaholic was okay. It had its moments, but I didn't think the storyline was that great. I say wait until it's out on video if you're interested in watching it.

Nights in Rodanthe was okay also. I might try reading the book since the movie went pretty quickly. Didn't like the ending though.

Into The Wild is on limited showing right now. This week, it happens to be showing at Varsity Theater. I haven't read the book, but I don't think I will now. I'm not a fan of sad endings, but I must admit that the movie was great. I envy those blessed with an adventurous spirit.

It's hard to compare The Lake House to Il Mare. Not because they are so different (that would at least be a sort of comparison), but simply because I can't remember much about Il Mare. I do remember that I liked it. From what I remembered, some of it at least is the same, but the Hollywood version has to make it more of a typical Hollywood romantic ( Read more... )

I went to the library to try to get back into the In Death serie, since the last one I read was during the summer after I had graduated. Which means that I'm about six books behind. Or more. Thai Bistro's lunch specials are a great deal. They give you rice in a shape of a valentine, cute. TGI Friday in Roseville has nice glass tumblers. I want to get some. I enjoyed The Virgin Suicide. The movie actually made me feel better about my life. At least I wasn't overprotected to that extent, but then again, it might not have been a bad thing ( Read more... )
