Hello! I just started watching Doctor Who a couple months ago, and Donna's definitely my favorite companion so far!

I was just thinking the other day that I should tell you how much I love all your DW fics, especially To Err is Human (which is one of my favorite fics ever). I would comment on them individually if I thought that 1) you would see it and 2) you wouldn't be annoyed to have all those comments popping up suddenly on years-old stories.

As for this series, i love how realistically difficult it would be for everyone involved if Donna suddenly came back, especially for the Doctor and Donna. Even though he still cares about her deeply, Eleven is so different from Ten that it's definitely going to cause problems. And poor Donna comes back only to find that everything has changed. :/

Anyway, i love that River is the one who barges in and fixes the metacrisis while Donna Handler #2 is not paying attention (i stifled a giggle at the thought of all those Donna Handlers because it does make sense that she would be monitored. And 'aww' at the Doctor warning the universe away from her!). And what an enlightening conversation that is hilarious one moment and heartbreaking the next, because of course River's next stop is the Library and Donna's going to try to stop her (it's very Doctor-ish of her, with her whole "time can be rewritten"). I also must say that i love the beginning of this chapter, when Donna has the flashback to the last time she was trapped in the TARDIS. Because that was a very traumatic experience for her (not to mention the beginning of the end) that had to be glossed over under the circumstances, and I'm so glad that you acknowledged that.

Lovely chapter! I can't wait to see what comes next! :)

Thank you for taking the time and letting me know! I know I'm often guilty of enjoying other people's writings and then not giving feedback, so I really appreciate it when someone does. And believe me, NO ONE is every annoyed by having people comment on their stories, no matter how old the stories are! It actually feels pretty nice to know your old work is still being found and enjoyed. So never fear!

I felt like I should have added a little warning or author's note to this chapter for River fans. I love River as a character, but my ship will always be Donna/Doctor. However, I HATE it when my fave character "helps" the Doctor get together with my non-ship. (Like all those "Donna helps the Doctor find his true love Rose!") stories. HATE THEM. So I felt like adding a little "Oh my gosh, if you ship River/Doctor then I'm so sorry, this will make you angry," but then I didn't. I'm a bad person!

Originally this story was going to be a little stand-alone from Amy's point of view (the first chapter), but once I started thinking about it, those very things that you mentioned started niggling at me. How *would* Donna react to Eleven? Eleven is indeed so different than Ten, and whereas she and Ten meshed very well, what if she and Eleven didn't? What do you do when the person you thought you knew best isn't that person anymore. Or maybe they are, but it's just hidden deep deep down. I personally stopped watching Doctor Who about 2 seasons after Eleven started -- I couldn't handle the change. Although I thought he was doing a great job, I couldn't see the Doctor *I* loved in there anymore (*cough*Ten*cough*). I think that was a very purposeful decision by Moffat, who wanted to differentiate his run from the previous executive producer.

Well, whatever the case -- if I couldn't make the change, could Donna? She probably would have forgiven Ten faster than she can forgive Eleven, I think. Who knows...we'll find out together!

Haha, no worries - no warning needed, at least not for me! When I read this the first time, I had barely started the Moffat era so my only impression of River was from fanfics and Silence in the Library (I still liked her though). I know what you mean about the "Donna helps the Doctor get together with Rose" stories - I can't stand them either. Avoid at all costs! But Doctor/River is so complicated - there is no way that monogamy factors into their non-linear relationship. Would someone really be angry that River wants someone to make sure the Doctor's okay when she's not around? Then again, I guess that makes me kind of a hypocrite about the Rose & Donna stories, haha.

I just started Season 8, and I totally understand what you mean about the different eras. Given the choice, Moffat sacrifices character development for his plot twists and complicated storylines (um, am I going to get things thrown at me for saying that? lol). I felt like that was the reason that I didn't really connect to Amy or Rory until the very end of their run. As of now, DW has really become one of those whimsical shows that I watch but don't really get too emotionally invested in, which is a bit of a shame. I'm the kind of person who likes falling in love with characters and obsessing over them long after the show's over. :P
